ETDA SUmmit 2026

Courage, Connection, & Change

February 5-8, 2026

Join us for our annual Summit at Camp Kanuga in
Hendersonville, North Carolina!

This year's theme is Courage, Connection, and Change

This year, we gather not just to share practices—but to sit with deeper questions:

* What does it take to lead in a world shaped by trauma?
* How do we hold space for healing while moving systems forward?
* How can we transform disruption into purposeful change?

Join us as we explore these questions together—grounded in the power of experiential learning and fueled by our shared commitment to growth, connection, and impact.

Come ready to be moved. Come ready to connect. Come ready to change.

    Our Speaker

Dr. Kemia M. Sarraf | Founder of Lodestar Consulting

Dr. Kemia Sarraf (“Dr. K” ) completed her Medical Degree and Master of Public Health at the University of Utah School of Medicine, and her residency in Internal Medicine at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, Washington University School of Medicine. The arc of her more than two decade career has included patient care, public health programming and development, nonprofit leadership, multiple board positions in both the public and private sector, DEI and trauma-mitigation work in medical education, and private business ownership.

Dr. K's deep and expansive background in public health, trauma, and a trauma-informed approach to professional coaching led her to develop a unique paradigm honed for professionals working in environments of chronic toxic stress.

Dr. K founded Lodestar in 2016, responding to a growing need for trauma-mitigation subspecialty coaching methods for physician colleagues who were reporting alarmingly high levels of severe burnout, vicarious trauma, and moral injury. She serves as adjunct faculty at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in the office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.

    Our Setting

Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Kanuga Conference Center offers a setting of natural beauty and quiet reflection. This year, it also offers symbolism. Recently impacted by Hurricane Helene, the site is a living metaphor for the work ahead: weathered, resilient, and ripe for renewal. We gather in a space that has known damage—and is choosing restoration.

Registration for pre-conference options will be communicated soon ~ stay tuned!

The Annual Summit has been a key community event for ETDA since its inception. An intimate gathering of about 30 people, our goal is for members to achieve value in the following three areas.

    • Practitioner Enhancement - Striving toward exemplary practices for practitioner practice. Examples include activities that enhance skills, knowledge or competencies through models, tools and/or processes.
    • Business Operations - Providing opportunities for building business acumen and and best practices. Examples include speakers, peer learning groups and coaching circles.
    • ETDA Community - Building and maintaining relationships within our Community. Examples include networking, shared meals, hospitality activities and other fun events.
